Make a Matching Gift
Many corporations and foundations match gifts from their employees on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis. Planned gifts made to Waterleaf will help us provide a solid foundation for future, and inspire others to make similar transformative gifts. Give Through Your IRA
Money from an individual retirement account can be donated to a nonprofit like Waterleaf. If you’ve reached the age where you need to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your traditional IRAs, you can avoid paying taxes on them by donating that money to Waterleaf. That tax break was made permanent in 2015.
Make a Gift of Stock
Gifts of stock to Waterleaf offer a tax benefit in two ways:
- First, you avoid paying capital gains tax on the increased value of the stock.
- Second, you can take a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift.
- You may make a gift of stock by asking your stock broker to transfer the number of shares you would like to donate to the Waterleaf.
