Bringing Hope and Life to Local Communities
Since our founding in 2009, our prayer and desire has been to see the number of abortions reduced and ultimately eradicated in DuPage and the surrounding counties. We’re pleased to report this is happening! We still have a long way to go but are grateful to see the our efforts are bearing fruit.
DuPage County Abortion Statistics
We’ve seen a steady decrease in the number of abortions in DuPage County since 2012:
- 2012: 1,989 abortions
- 2013: 1,786 abortions
- 2014: 1,677 abortions
- 2015: 1,599 abortions
- 2016: 1,504 abortions
- *2017: 1,311 abortions
Will County Abortion Statistics
- 2012: 1,538 abortions
- 2013: 1,460 abortions
- 2014: 1,267 abortions
- 2015: 1,299 abortions
- 2016: 1,202 abortions
- *2017: 1,079 abortions
*2017 is the last year for which we have data.
Regardless of the extreme abortion legislation our legislators pass and governor signs, women are looking for real answers and hope outside of abortion. We are honored to be the place where they turn when they have no one else to support them.
Continuing Abortion Decline in Illinois
We’re so encouraged by the numbers we see and hope you are, too. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a village to help the child’s mother feel safe and secure to raise her child. You are that village when you choose to donate to Waterleaf Women’s Center. You are helping the abortion rate go down in Illinois.
But there’s still a long way to go. We not only want to see a steady decrease in the number of abortions in Illinois; we want abortions to end entirely. We want women to know they’re strong and empowered and that they can choose life instead of death. We want them to know the dangers of abortion and understand that there’s a better way.
Together, we can get there. Together, your generosity will help us reach more abortion-vulnerable women. If you haven’t yet, please partner with us through financial contributions to not only keep our doors open, but to expand our influence and reach to every woman in our community who feels like abortion is her only option.
